A great idea for a book, brilliantly executed and beautifully presented. Plus, it supports Alzheimer research!
At times, using a dictionary, thesaurus or google can seem like the wrong approach in choosing the right word. This book will challenge your use of vocabulary. There’s a plethora of words at our disposal that we neglect to use. Familiarize yourself with 1,000 uncommon words and you won’t be at a loss for them. Words are magic -- and Sheryl’s book is magical. Ponder at all the people who took the time; one sentence at a time; one intention at a time, in helping to create a book that reclaims our love for expression – whether written or oral. A Rewording Life is a commemoration to all those who have lost the ability to find meaning in the word.
This book is quintessential to anyone who has a family member struggling with Alzheimer's. I would highly recommend this book. I also love that 50% of the profits go to Alzheimer's research! Thanks to the author for her generous spirit...

If you're the quintessential logophile, it behooves you to peruse A Rewording Life. Or if you just love words, read this book! Charming, touching, fun, educational, poetic. Read it front to back, back to front, or flip through it randomly to discover the richness and quirkiness of the English language. It's an ode to the importance of words, and the poignancy of their loss. (Bonus--you'll learn just how many creative Canadians there are--prominent and otherwise--who contributed to the book.) When you buy this book, half the profits will be donated to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada, and you'll learn new splendiferous words like "philosophunculist"!
There is a lot of love bound in these pages. A fantastic book.
This is a brilliant concept for a book in support of Alzheimer's funding. A cornucopia of words that many of us wish were part of our own lexicon. A Rewording Life is a delight to read and savor, and to share with others. Fun too for anyone who has ever played "dictionary" around the dinner table. This "dictionary" takes the simple game to dizzying heights. I love it.

Book Launch

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the book launch. It was so lovely celebrating this momentous occasion with you. It was truly special meeting many of you for the first time, too. Even though I forgot what I was supposed to say most of the night (lethologica loves the limelight!), it was the epitome of an indelible night for me.
Special thanks to Terry Fallis, Dalton Higgins, Luke Nicholson, and Lisa de Nikolits for elevating the evening with their witty words, insightful observations, vulnerable stories, and touching tributes. To see pictures of the soirée, click here.
