Terry Fallis champions feminism in his latest book, Poles Apart. Using a stripper pole to a) entwine characters and b) lure readers is classic Fallis. Clever, informative, farcical, and highly voltaic, you'll no doubt be charged to promulgate this book—and its feminist ideals—once you've finished reading it.
Having said that, what are you waiting for? Go buy this book. Now!

For Your Eyes Only:
  • His bottom-of-the-class high school diploma didn't quite cut it next to Mom's top-of-the-class, summa cum laude, university business degree.
  • For all of Graeme's frenetic hyperbole, I liked the apartment.
  • Calling it a limp would be lily-gilding in the extreme. He was pushing one of those walkers you see in seniors' residences.
  • Of course I've heard of that reprobate. He's a degenerate of the first order, set on returning women to what he thinks is their rightful place—naked and writhing on a pole for the collective entertainment of boors and louts.
  • All that was missing was her golden lariat and invisible plane.
  • After more than a century of business hegemony, men become the role model for many businesswomen on their way up.
  • I certainly didn't want to impugn the success of women who have reached the top in a man's world.
  • But a tiny part of my brain also registered that Shawna had used the word "apoplectic."
  • "I read a squib about it in the paper," she replied.
  • It took a little creativity and some serious thespian prowess before the receptionist at your old firm caved. But here I am.

John Stuart Mills is referenced (and rightly so!) in Poles Apart. Have you heard of this 19th century (1806-1873) feminist?
